Nabil A. Muhaisen, FWEA Mutual Organization Director
Patrick R. Victor, Past President of the Florida Section of AWRA

Today's information age has fueled a technical revolution of endless change and continuous discovery affecting every aspect of our lives. Keeping up with the rapid pace of technical advances in water resources presents a challenge for today's busy professionals. As leading professional associations in water-related industries, the Florida Water Environment Association (FWEA) and the Florida Section of the American Water Resources Association (AWRA) have made it their goal to keep their members and the community well informed.

The FWJ mission is to provide timely, topical technical information affecting the watershed we call "Florida". Authors in this publication are considered leaders in their fields; therefore, we are confident that its contents will provide readers useful information relevant to their specialties.

We hope that by offering this publication, we have succeeded in inspiring water resources professionals to find cost-effective, socially and environmentally responsible solutions to water resources challenges in Florida.
